So I'm going into Trader Joes last night to pick up some of their dope blueberry jam. As I'm walking in I playfully push on the automatic sliding doors (like you do when you go through a revolving door.)
It promptly stopped in mid motion and wouldn't move when budged. So I did what any normal man does when they break something - I took off for the dairy section and hid.
I can't figure why in todays socity that an outfit like Trader Joes does not promote a "DRUG FREE" workplace.
Posted by: Gilbert at January 8, 2004 8:36 AMI LIKE TRADER JOES, SLIDING DOORS OR NOT. I LIVE IN SHANGHAI NOW; NO DOPE BLUEBERY JAM TO BE FOUND.
Posted by: BRIAN at January 15, 2004 11:43 PMDO NOT GET THE CHICKEN POT PIE!!!! I love Trader Joes but their pot pie is absolutly awful. There was a big chunk of bone in it, the meat was dry and there was no gravy. DISGUSTING!!!
Posted by: Brad at February 20, 2004 7:29 PMSince moving to Maui a few months ago, I've missed shopping at Trader Joe's a lot. Everything here is very expensive, especially wine. I was a $2 Chuck addict. I doubt that T-J's will ever come to Maui because the cost of shipping is so high.
Posted by: Lynn at June 20, 2004 10:46 AMOf all the things I miss after moving from Las Vegas, to SE Florida (a vast nursing home, though most of the residents don't know it yet), is Trader Joes. Can't get a crumb of Sour Dough Bread anywhere in this state. I doubt they know what it is. I may have to try and get a case of Cat Treats shipped to me, as my cats love it, and are finicky about what they eat. Too bad Trader Joes doesn't have an online ordering store. I might even have to drive to Virginia, where the closet TJ's is.
Posted by: Don at August 10, 2004 1:35 PMSo about the time that I found out about TJ's.....I move here to New Hamphsire and the nearest store is about 40 miles away. (Sadly, I'll be making THAT commute cuz I like the place).
BUT...wanted to say that my favorite thing from TJ's is the 2 Buck Chuck! (Saves the "good" wine for company) :)

Posted by: Jim at November 7, 2004 5:27 AMI have been shopping at Trader Joes since 1968 (their second store on Foothill Blvd in La Crescenta, CA). I lived in Bend, OR for 17 years and went through the Joe's withdrawals so I know what you are going through and also longed for them to open a store there. I am back in an area that has a Joe's and would be happy to mail order goodies to anyone, anywhere. Just go on their site and check out the new Fearless Flyer in addition to your old favorites. I charge $7.50 per trip to TJ's and .30 cents per item to cover handling (packing)and PayPal charges, plus shipping costs to your zip code. Credit card payment is handled through PayPal. Email me for further information if you are interested. Joestogos@netscape.net
Posted by: Linda at April 19, 2005 7:31 PMI recently purchased some parmasean cheese from Trader Joe's and didn't open it for a week or so. When I did I discovered it was bad. Taking it back to the store was a nightmare. The stores in Portland , Oregon don't have the great customer service I came to expect from shopping in California since 1986.
Posted by: Kate at October 6, 2005 3:10 PMThe Chicken Pot pie was the biggest disappointment! Only had a top crust, which meant that all of the filling was boiling over and a third of it bubble out of my pie and onto my microwave. The crust only browned around the top, leaving the center (more than 80 percent of the crust) uncooked and still doughy. The filling was yummy, but I was so frustrated to have only 20 percent of the dough cooked. Am going to ask for a refund. Only thing I've ever had from TJ that wasn't good.
Posted by: meg at November 13, 2005 11:58 AMIt took it some time and effort for me to "grow to love" the trder, but now I do . . . I only feel that as a consumer that loves the company, I am not being properly taken care of by the company. The only way they could possibly solve this . . . online shopping.
Posted by: sher at January 28, 2006 2:16 AMI MISS THE CAT TREATS. They are the ONLY treats my cat will eat and she LOVES them. I am down to my last two bottles. Does anyone know if the manufacturer makes the same treats under another brand name since Trader Joes does not carry them any longer?
